About This Edition

E Le O Sau Avega E Amo is the Gagana Samoa edition of our debut children’s book, This Is Not Yours to Carry. Translated by Larissa Toelupe and made possible through the generous support of the Ministry of Education, New Zealand, this edition was created to communicate something essential to Samoan tamaiti: that their language, their culture, and their healing matter.

This story follows Tai as he learns that the weight of the past, the pain, the trauma, the cycles — is not his to carry. It’s a message for every child. And now, it can be heard in Gagana Samoa.
